My Wine Making Blog
Welcome to my wine making blog! I’ve bottled hundreds of bottles of homemade wine over the past several years. I’ve made all of my wine from kits and have never ever had one of these kits not turn out. These kits come with very easy to follow instructions and make a very, very good bottle of wine.
Also having experience in making my own beer, I can say that making a quality wine with a kit has been much easier than making a great tasting beer. It might be my last of experience with beer making or something else I just haven’t figured out, but from the very first 5 gallon batch of the Expert White Zinfandel; every single batch of wine I’ve made has turned out excellent. These bottles of homemade wine taste just as good as a $25+ bottle of wine you’d purchase at any liquor store.
Anyway I will start to document every step of making wine with a wine kit. I want to show people just how easy home wine-making is with these affordable kits. Most of the wine kits I’ve made cost approximately $50 - $60. These kits will make 5 gallons of wine. This is enough wine to fill 30 750 ml wine bottles. So the simple math figures out to be less than $2 per bottle. Of course you have to purchase bottles and corks but still very affordable. Not to mention once you have your bottle supply built you don’t need to purchase more (unless you like to build up a collection of wines in your rack or cellar).
My intention is to get started with using whole fruit to make wine in the not too distant future. I will be sure to post this journey as well. Since we have access to tons of Rhubarb I might make my first attempt at whole fruit wine a tasty rhubarb wine.
